Hi, everybody, Andy here with etrailer.com. Let's take a look together at these Diode Dynamics SS3 LED Sport Combo Pod Lights with Brackets. These three-inch LED combo pod lights are gonna be great for seeing near and far away. These are gonna give you bright light with reduced glare for improved visibility and safety. As you can see, I have this light currently connected to my power source and I also have it installed to one of the brackets just to show you what this is going to look like when you install the bracket to the light. So this bracket is going to give you the ability to mount these lights virtually anywhere on your vehicle.

It does come with the hardware to mount the bracket with the light on your vehicle and also the hardware to install the light to the bracket. And as you notice, when you have the light in the bracket, that's gonna give you the ability to adjust the angle of these lights. And once you have that angle set to where you want it, you'll just lock it into place with that hardware and you'll be good to go. The brackets are made from durable aluminum, so they're gonna hold up really well for you. You're not gonna have to worry about corrosion or anything like that.

And I'm gonna go ahead and shut my studio lights off just so you have a better idea of what these lights are gonna look like in low-light or dark conditions. And I went ahead and went out for a wide view just so you can see what this is going to look like. And then without crossing my wires, I'm going to shine the light on the wall behind me so you can get a good look at that pattern. This combo beam pattern is a mix between your driving beam and your flood beam, so these lights are gonna be really good for all around use. And the light here does have a color temperature of 6,000 Kelvin.

So this color is going to match your other factory LEDs. It's a crisp color, so it's really going to enhance your overall visibility. Now, these lights do have a raw lumen rating of 2,262 lumens and a measured lumen rating of 1,520 lumens. And even with my bright studio lights on, you can still see that beam and just how bright these lights are going to be. Now, these lights do have a peak beam intensity of 31,500 Candela.

And in case you don't know, Candela ratings measure the directional light output, and it's how anything is rated where you want light shining in a specific direction. Lumen ratings are just for omnidirectional output, like your regular light bulbs where you want light shining in all directions. But for a more detailed description of these ratings, you can visit this product page on our website, or Diode Dynamics provides additional information that you can find. So the power draw is going to 1.1 amps, and these lights are designed with the newer technology known as custom TIR optics. TIR stands for total internal reflection. So unlike the older technology that uses reflectors or simple projector lenses, which aren't too efficient at focusing all of that light where you want it, this custom-designed large TIR optic actually collects and then focuses all of the light forward very efficiently. And instead of having another external lens, certain lens patterns have actually been molded directly onto this lens surface. So that's gonna prevent the normal efficiency loss you see with an outside lens. As you probably know, when you shine light through any type of glass or plastic, you could lose up to 10% of that light just from a shining through. So by having it as part of this lens, you're gonna actually pick up some efficiency rather than lose it. Now, these lights do include the industry standard integrated Deutsch-style connector. So you see this pigtail here with that connector that's just going to plug directly into the back of this light very securely. And then while we're looking at the back of the light, I wanted to show you that we do have a breather patch on these lights, and that's gonna prevent moisture buildup. And then these heat sinks are gonna do a great job of dissipating the heat quickly to increase the longevity of these lights. Now, these lights have been built with high-intensity LED chips. They feature a durable powder-coated aluminum construction, and that heavy-duty construction is gonna do a great job of withstanding extreme temperatures, corrosion, and vibration. And testing is completed to SAE Standards, just like your factory lighting components on your vehicle. And an interesting point to make is that Diode Dynamics actually designed, engineered, and assembled these lights right down the highway from us at their headquarters here in the Greater St. Louis area. Let's go over some measurements. Looking at the overall width from end to end, we're sitting pretty close to 3 1/4 inches wide. And that's gonna be the same measurement for the overall height. But then, of course, when you add the bracket, that's going to add to the height. So from the top of the light all the way to the bottom of our bracket, we're gonna be sitting pretty close to 3 3/4 inches tall. And then looking at the overall depth from the front of the light to the end of our heat sinks, we're gonna be sitting pretty close to 2 3/8 inches deep. Now, these lights do draw high currents, and they do require adequately-sized wiring for safe operation. So if you're not using a Diode Dynamics wiring harness, you wanna be sure that you're using wiring that's size 16 gauge or larger.
